How do you summon enough nerve to overcome self-consciousness, to make a stand against public opinion and raise your own individual banner? The answer is that you have to learn to be comfortable just being yourself. This is achieved only when the opinions of other people are made to matter less, and G-d to matter more – which only comes with conscious awareness that there is no reality, except for G-d.
