Personal Prayer

Each person must set aside a certain amount of time during the day when one will express oneself before Hashem in one’s native language (hitbodedut). Personal prayer is an exceedingly great method for drawing close to Hashem. Whatever one is lacking in service of Him, or even if one is distant from Him, one can express it all before Hashem and request His help.

If the person is unable to speak before Hashem at all, then one should cry out and plead with Him about this fact itself, that one has grown so very far from Him that one cannot even speak before Him. The person should beg Hashem for mercy and compassion that He should open one’s heart to be able to express oneself before Him.
