From the Depths

When a person’s emuna is broken and falls, when no advice seems to help, when one’s prayers don’t seem to be getting through to Hashem or being answered, the path then is to cry out to Hashem from the depth of one’s heart. A person does not need to actually scream out loud. Rather, “Their heart cried out to Hashem” (Eikha 2:18). This is a cry which comes solely from the heart.

“From the depths, I called out to Hashem!” (T’hillim 130:1). This is the depths of the heart, because it is in the heart where true advice is hidden. The true advice is always hiding behind a screen. We need to cry out to Hashem from the very depths of our heart in order to break this screen.
